Lewis has been riding since he was 16. At 17 he purchased a 350 Triumph and has had a special interest in classic British bikes ever since.

About the same time he began an apprentice to become a Motorcycle Technician at Merton Technical College. He knows the history of any bike you can mention and will often know it’s interesting quirks including how or why the design was developed from a previous model.

After his apprenticeship Lewis worked for 10 years as a motorcycle mechanic in a small workshop. The work involved a lot of genuine repair of existing parts. This was followed by a move to DataTool designing aspects of alarms and training alarm fitters.

Lewis has always done all his own bike maintenance and repair and carried out restorations of several motorcycles. He enjoys touring around Europe and has even toured on classic bikes with all the roadside repairs that can bring.
